No job is too small. No problem too big! Community Design Surgeries provide free early design advice to all!
At our Community Design Surgeries, members of your community – residents, local business owners and community groups – are offered the opportunity for a free 30-minute consultation with a local design professional.

This service is free to all. If you can, we welcome a donation of £1 – £25 towards your session to help us continue providing this service.
What Advice Can I Expect?
At the design surgery, you will be able to access early design advice regarding your project from local Design Professionals. The type of advice we can offer at the surgery could include the following:
- Information about planning, building control and other statutory approvals you may need to apply for.
- Recommendations for expertise and professional services you may need to support your project.
- Key project stages, milestones and decisions you will need to take.
- Other relevant consideration, including sustainability considerations and an outline estimate of the anticipated project.
- Details of potential grant funding to support your project.
What Happens At The Consultation?
Although the consultation is expected to be 30 minutes we advise you leave 45-60 minutes to accomodate additional steps. If attending a Community Design Surgery you should expect the following steps:

Frome
On Saturday 10th of August, Neighbourhood Toolbox hosted our first Community Design Surgery on Saturday, August 10th, at Victoria Park, Frome, as part of Frome Town Council’s Community Celebration.
We hope to host another Community Design Surgery in Frome soon.
Westbury
