In January 2025, Neighbourhood Toolbox, working with Super Roots CIC and Woodland Tribe, ran the first of three workshops with young people in Frome to co-design a new youth play area at Mary Bayliss Playing Fields. Participants explored the site, gathered data, discussed priorities, and considered others’ needs to shape the design brief. In the next workshop, the young designers will focus on materials, exploring what is available to build the play structure within the council’s budget and how it can be maintained over time.
