This autumn, Neighbourhood Toolbox CIC, in partnership with Retrofit West, will be hosting Community Design Surgeries at three locations across B&NES.

These sessions are open to all whether you rent or own your home. At these events, we will be:
Sharing practical advice and inspiration on no cost and low cost improvements both renters and homeowners can undertake themselves to improve the comfort of their home
Offering a free 30-minute consultation with a local design professional to discuss your home and any improvements you are considering.
You’re welcome to just drop by on the day for general advice. However, if you want a 30 minute appointment with a local design professional we strongly recommend booking in advance using the calendar below, as slots will be limited.

What Is A Design Surgery Appointment?
At a design surgery appointment, you will be able to access early design advice regarding your project from local Design Professionals. The type of advice we can offer at the surgery could include the following:
Get free, tailored advice from local design professionals to:
- Learn ways to make spaces in your home more comfortable and energy efficient.
- Explore design ideas uniquely suited to your property and lifestyle
- Understand any planning, approvals and the stages to realise your project
- Discover smarter, greener, and healthier ways to improve your home.
- Receive budget guidance and details on available funding support.
Although your appointment with the design professional will be 30 minutes long, we ask those attending to allow for 40 -60 minutes in total to accommodate all steps in the process. You should expect the following:
